One of the main challenges of democracy is how to ensure the representativeness of the different social groups, within a political scenario dominated by rationality and the masculine way of acting. In the Brazilian scenario, the parties assume a unique role that reflects the reality of the political system itself, transforming these associations into oligarchies that seek to maintain the power of a male dominant class, creating a set of factors that leads political parties to a system autopoietic maintenance of differences in opportunities and privileges in favor of male leaders. Through an analysis of the gender composition of the associations at the national level, it can be seen that women have a limited space reserved within the parties. A review of the autonomy limit of political parties in relation to fundamental rights, particularly the democratic principle, is shown to be necessary to guarantee the due space of women in the management positions of party associations.
