AN EXPLORATION OF THE CONSTITUTIONAL RECOGNITION IN MEXICO OF NATURE AS A SUBJECT OF RIGHTS
Keywords:
ecocentrism, nature, subject of rightsAbstract
In this study, nature is analyzed as a subject of rights, and the convenience of recognizing it as such for the environment is demonstrated. Given the prevailing anthropocentric stance in Mexico, emphasis is placed on ecocentric norms and the attempts that have been made to move away from an anthropocentric position. By briefly examining international, Mexican, and foreign law, it is possible to present the bases for a proposal for Mexico in which we have been inspired by the Ecuadorian model. In this model, there is constitutional recognition, and it should be noted that this prototype has generated beneficial rulings for nature.
